TEO Selects Agama's Monitoring Solution for High Quality IPTV
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Agama Technologies has announced that TEO LT, AB, Lithuania’s incumbent telco, has chosen Agama’s end-to-end monitoring solution to ensure the quality of the digital TV services in its IP
and DVB-T network, using Ericsson (News - Alert) as the systems integrator.
The delivery of digital TV services presents its own variety of challenges. The combination of the viewers’ high expectations and the complexity and sensitivity of the service itself brings unique and serious demands on an operator’s network delivery chain.
By effectively monitoring the quality of the actual DTV service, the operator can improve network performance, especially by focusing on its weakest points. The operator can also focus on the customers’ experience and deliver superior quality of service

TEO, providing integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services to residents and business, has chosen Agama to be the provide of end-to-end solution for the quality monitoring of their digital TV services over IP and DVB-T.
The solution covers Agama Analyzer nodes for monitoring from content ingestion origin, to efficient last mile and in-home monitoring of their IPTV
service with Agama’s embedded STB monitoring probes.
This solution ensures that TEO will have all means to follow the delivered service quality throughout the network, all the way to the end customer. As a result, the telco will be able to strengthen their position as a high quality service provider with expressed focus on customer satisfaction.

“We are honored that yet another incumbent telco with a long and successful history has chosen our solution to ensure their DTV service quality”, said Mikael Dahlgren, Managing Director of Agama Technologies, in a Tuesday statement.
Dahlgren continued: “By providing unified quality metrics regardless of transmission form Agama enables multi transmission operators like TEO to both increase their service quality and simplify their service assurance. As operators develop their business into several TV transmission arenas Agamas solutions can easily be extended to provide support for their evolved business.”
Powered by unique multi-metric monitoring, the Agama Digital-TV Monitoring Solution is a complete product line to ensure DTV service quality throughout the whole deliver chain from head-end to the viewer’s STB.
Operators can take control of the service from the transport to the content layers supporting all parts of the organization, from NOC (News - Alert) and customer care to management. As the number of providers of digital television solutions continues to grow, so will the intensity of the competition within the industry. As a result, operators must be able to provide a high quality experience, or risk losing customers to those providers who can.
