Mariner Unveils Industry First IPTV Service Acceleration Platform 'frostt'

Video services and solution provider, is planning to launch its new innovation for the industry. frostt, as it will be known in the industry, is a revolutionary IPTV service acceleration platform. It will deliver web based entertainment services to the TV. In addition to this it will also maximize the value of existing IPTV (News - Alert) networks, Set Tops and remote controls.
Mariner will unveil its innovation ‘frostt’ with a news conference at the annual digital media industry event, the NAB show. It will be held at Mariner’s booth- C1154- at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday, April 15th at 9 a.m. The NAB Show is hosted by National Association of Broadcasters which features companies and products from across the globe.
Frost, Mariner’s latest innovation, is a Web architected platform. This is expected to influence the existing IPTV investment and will enable low cost, low risk innovation. The platform fuses the power of Web 2.0 and IPTV technologies to simplify and speed the deployment of new IPTV services. Service providers have been looking for such a toolset where they can get all IPTV services.
With the help of frostt, IPTV operators can deploy Internet video and social media services that are not yet available on cable and satellite TV systems. It also allows operators to increase their revenues with frostt self-service software that lets consumer’s subscribe to premium channel packages and features from the TV. Operators will also benefit cost savings with frost integrated self care tools with which consumers can correct common service problems using their own remote control.
Curtis Howe, Mariner’s President and CEO, quoted, “frostt delivers on the original promise of IPTV – new entertainment applications and improved service to consumer innovation driven by interactivity.” He will be presenting Best Practices in IPTV System Integration as part of the NABSHOW Telecom2008: Building Your IPTV Business track.
