By Shireen Dee, TMCnet Contributing Editor

AT&T (News - Alert) (American Telephone & Telegraph) recently announced the launch of its integrated suite of AT&T U-verse services which include the AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

AT&T U-verse will deliver its TV, High Speed Internet and Voice services through its advanced Internet Protocol (IP) network and by putting together TV, broadband, home phone and AT&T wireless services in a single bill, will provide users with a more convenient option.

"With the launch of AT&T U-verse TV, Tulsa customers are finally getting a better choice in video entertainment services," remarked Ryan Stafford, AT&T general manager for Oklahoma and Arkansas. "And we're taking it even further by making your services work together and offering cool features you can't get anywhere else," Stafford added.

AT&T’s IP-based television (IPTV) service will give subscribers access to more than 40 High Definition (HD) channels and supports both 720p and 1080i formats. With a variety of subscription plans, it can provide almost 320 channels and also offers Spanish-language and international packages. While all of its packages include HD-capable equipment, it can also provide HD-capable digital video recorder (DVR) which can concurrently record up to four programs. It also gives users the power to set their DVRs from anywhere through any Web-connected personal computer or compatible AT&T mobile phone.

AT&T U-verse TV helps users easily watch photos which they have uploaded on the Flickr website as slide shows on their TV screens. Among its various other benefits, it also offers YELLOWPAGES.COM TV, Video On Demand (VOD) library, AT&T Yahoo Games as well as fast channel-changing.

The AT&T U-verse Voice is an IP-based service which due to AT&T's fiber-rich network provides clarity and good sound quality. Apart from providing a single voice mailbox, it will also allow users to access this mailbox from any phone line or PC. Its benefits include services like Click to Call, an online Address Book, traditional call features and Locate Me, which enables simultaneous ringing on up to four wireless or landline numbers. It also provides emergency 911 services which can be enhanced to E911 service wherever the local 911 network is available.

The AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet for consumers and small businesses offers four package options called Max, Elite, Pro and Express. While Max will have downstream speeds of up to 10.0 Mbps (Megabits per second) and upstream speeds up to 1.5 Mbps; Elite, Pro and Express will have 6.0, 3.0 and 1.5 Mbps downstream speeds, and 1.0 and 1.5 Mbps upstream speeds respectively.

AT&T U-verse requires professional installation and offers different combinations of TV, Internet and Voice services in five programming packages -- U100, U200, U300, U400 and plus U-family packages. With current starting prices at $44 a month, it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee to customers.
