NetSuite Offers Business Operating System

Offering a software-as-a-service application development system for software developers, independent software vendors and value-added resellers, NetSuite has begun rolling out its Business Operating System. The company has appointed former Oracle (News - Alert) executive Michael Ni as vice president of industry solutions and ecosystems, to launch the NS-BOS.

NetSuite (News - Alert), Inc. is the leading provider of on-demand, integrated business management software for growing and midsize businesses.

Delivering a system for customization and vertical application, NS-BOS application creation includes a SaaS (News - Alert) infrastructure. NetSuite's multi-tenant, Web-based architecture will host the developed by third parties on NS-BOS.

According to a report in webcpa.com, Mini Peiris, NetSuite's vice president of product management, said in a statement, “This is a culmination of pieces we've been building over the last three years. If you think about it, you can't have a robust development platform without an environment to debug your code, and when you're going through the development of your applications that's a pretty key aspect.”

NS-BOS includes several elements such as SuiteFlex that provides the NetSuite technology platform for customer, partner and ISV development, customization, verticalization, integration and business process automation. Completely new applications that run within the NetSuite environment can be created with SuiteFlex. It includes the SuiteScript programming language, which is based on JavaScript and point-and-click tools to Web services. Delivery of ISV-built vertical solutions to SaaS customers in a packaged, repeatable manner is also possible with SuiteBundler.

If you are looking for a real-time, interactive debugger for code validation and testing as third-party applications run on the application server, you can rely on SuiteScript D-Bug. Against live data, SuiteScript D-Bug enables third-party applications to be tested in an actual server environment.

You can get the NS-BOS at no extra cost. But NetSuite will receive its normal license revenue from the core NetSuite application. You can log on to www.netsuite.com for more information.
