Accordent Media Management System Named in Streaming Media Magazine's 2007 Editors' Picks

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Accordent Technologies (News - Alert), Inc. has announced that the company was honored by the editorial staff of Streaming Media Magazine as one of ten stand-out products for the streaming media industry in 2007. The Accordent Media Management System (AMMS) is an end-to-end platform that manages, secures and measures the effectiveness of rich media communications on an organizational scale. Companies can get a fully customizable "YouTube (News - Alert)"-like search portal for all their multimedia presentations and assets with this system. The system is also supported by a secure management platform that integrates with their core enterprise IT and network systems.

Administrators can now have a record of who watches each presentation, how long they watch it for and how viewers interact with the material (using polling, testing and Q&A) as the AMMS authenticates and tracks viewers. With this, the administrators can meet regulatory compliance or certification requirements as the system provides an auditable record (and optionally a certificate). Companies can also accurately measure the quality of service provided during webcasts with the viewer-side statistics and information provided by the system.

Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen, Editor of Streaming Media Magazine, said, “Accordent introduced its Media Management System in 2006, immediately boasting a roster of big-name customers. In 2007, though, the system really came into its own, furthering the move toward enterprise video convergence in spring by announcing integration with TANDBERG, Polycom (News - Alert) and other videoconferencing systems and then again in the fall by adding support for the TANDBERG Content Server and Flash presentations. Add to that more robust tracking and reporting capabilities, and you’ve got an enterprise powerhouse that just keeps getting better.”

AMMS is adopted by corporations, government and educational institutions as it provides a centralized online infrastructure for searching, publishing and securing multi-level access to presentations. Presentations can be created with Accordent rich media creation products (Accordent Capture Station™, Accordent PresenterPRO™ and Accordent Engage™) as well as third-party video and audio sources, such as meetings held via videoconference, web conference and audio conference.
