Anystream Integrates Cisco Content Delivery System
By NatheshAnystream announced that Cisco’s (News - Alert) Content Delivery System is going to be integrated with its own Media Lifecycle Platform. The Cisco system is a multiplatform streaming architecture designed to deliver live and on-demand digital media and differentiate services from content providers on the Internet. Anystream is a provider of automated digital media production and workflow solutions.
This integration is purported to give service providers an opportunity to turn their online videos into a source of revenue.
“By choosing Cisco, service providers have the premier networks to deliver content in today’s three-screen world. Now, they need to extract more value from their content,” said Paul Sanchirico, vice president of engineering, service provider systems unit, Cisco.
“With the integration of Anystream’s Media Lifecycle Platform and the Cisco industry-leading multiplatform streaming system, our customers also have the ability to produce, manage and monetize video across devices, platforms and business models,” Paul added.
The combined Cisco and Anystream solution will allow service providers to pool ads and subscriptions with user created videos online.
“As new monetization strategies unfold, automating and simplifying the often cumbersome process surrounding the production and delivery of online video has become a necessity,” said Colin Dixon (News - Alert), broadband media practice manager of The Diffusion Group. “With this product offering, Cisco and Anystream are providing a new, innovative end-to-end solution by matching Anystream’s heritage in video production and management with Cisco’s industry-leading IPTV
and cable solutions under one umbrella.”
The Anystream Media Lifecycle Platform serves as the production, workflow management, and authentication engine integrated into the Cisco solution. The Cisco delivery system is a useful tool in having a control over the network while providing content to users, existing or new ones.
The Cisco multiplatform streaming system creates new market opportunities with live and on-demand content, above and beyond those available from traditional MPEG video services, which presently are limited to the set-top box.
“We’re now able to deliver to market a solution to help service providers around the world generate revenue from multiplatform video,” said Russell Zack, vice president of product management for Anystream. “The deployment of such a joint Anystream and Cisco solution gives customers a foundation for launching advanced video services for years to come.”
