Cisco Picks Audio-Visual Solution from BNS for Bangalore Customer Center

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Hong Kong-based Broadband Network Systems Ltd (BNS), a provider of IPTV (News - Alert) and other IP solutions, has completed its installation of an audio-visual system at Cisco's Customer Briefing Centre (CBC) in Bangalore.

BNS Ltd. (News - Alert) provides IP-based content and technology solutions for broadband service providers and enterprises such as telco TV, Internet TV, MDU IPTV, eobile TV and enterprise A/V. The company deals with designing, implementation and management of broadband networks mainly in Asia.

Cisco (News - Alert) is develops IP-based networking technologies and offers products and solutions in the areas of routing and switching. The company’s Customer Briefing Centers present its latest technology developments in areas such as unified communications, security, data centre, network foundation, rapid deployment communications and digital media systems designed to help customers increase business growth, agility, efficiency and productivity. This technology is explained using presentations and demonstrations.

The next generation IP-based audio-visual system at Cisco's CBC in Bangalore is said to be the fifth installation BNS completed for Cisco, in Asia. Earlier, BNS has installed its IP-based system into Cisco System's CBCs in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore, in a period of 12 months.

The installation of the IP-based solution at Bangalore, which is now operational, is said to be the largest CBC designed and installed by BNS for Cisco to date. The system features a complex array of next generation IP-based audio visual equipment connected via an IP network.

BNS’ IP-based audio-visual system can be operated even in the complex audio-visual environments that include multi-room and multi-facility locations. The system is managed through a simple one-click-to go interface that is provided by US software solutions provider Cloud Systems.

Cisco's Customer Briefing Centre in Bangalore accommodates two media walls, a demo theatre with six demo pods, technical briefing room and demo lab. These facilities are all centrally programmed to facilitate management of demonstration equipment using multiple devices such as Cisco IP phones, standard Web browsers, Tablet PCs, touchpads, wall plates, or PDA devices.

BNS’s solution integrates each center with a demo theater to conduct audiovisual demonstrations and a technical briefing room to provide a more practical environment for in-depth technology.

The installation of BNS’ IP-based audio-visual system into Cisco's Customer Briefing Centre is helping Cisco to save time and deliver presentations economically. The system does not require plugging and re-plugging of equipment  and thereby allows presenters to focus on the customer and the presentation rather than on the AV.

“The challenge was to find a solution that would cover the wide variety of advanced technologies due to be shown in the CBCs and integrate them into a seamless presentation and demonstration environment that is easily accessible to both Cisco personnel and customers.” said Colin Fung, Project Manager with BNS (and who oversaw installation of all CBCs in Asia), in a statement.
