ES3 and Pace to Collaborate for IPTV Customer Support
By Tracey E. Schelmetic, TMCnet Contributor
ES3, a TV application provider, and Pace, a UK-based company that creates technologies, software, hardware and services for the broadcast and broadband industries, have announced the formation of a collaboration that will provide specialized customer care and self-service TV applications for IPTV (News
- Alert) (Internet-based television) service operators.
ES3 offers content, social and utility-based interactive TV applications delivered on the Microsoft (News
- Alert) Mediaroom IPTV platform to service operators. Pace helps support that service with the right hardware, customer care and service management programs. The two companies will work together to integrate their capabilities into Pace’s Services Management System (SMS) to enable rapid deployment into Pace’s customer base.
Doug Edwards, CEO of ES3 said in a press release that the partnership is critical to ES3’s TV application strategy.
“Under a collaborative roadmap, our utility-based TV applications program is about to be injected with a level of capabilities and integrated intelligence that only Pace is able to deliver,” noted Edwards. “Pace’s offering, when combined with ES3’s penetration of consumer based TV applications in the Microsoft Mediaroom market; make this a ‘1 and 1 equals 3’ scenario.”
Pace says that the collaboration will build on an existing partnership with ES3 and will allow the company to provide support for IPTV service offerings.
“The new application will boost subscriber satisfaction, and may even eliminate the need for them to call for support at all,” commented Pace’s SVP of Services, Jonathan Cobb.
