Pirelli Broadband Solutions, a Milano, Italy-based provider of IPTV (News - Alert) set top boxes and customer premises equipment, has reportedly chosen the WebTView Platform for its STBs. Tel Aviv, Israel-based WebTView specializes in Internet-based video search and classification.

 

WebTView's software platform delivers a variety of real high-quality Internet TV content to the end user's TV, PC and mobile devices. The platform is known for its ability to automatically scan the Internet to build a normalized and unified Internet video catalog.

 

Equipped with WebTView's platform, Pirelli STB's will present the video catalog through their intuitive user interface. In addition, Pirelli STBs can play any video format irrespective of its original format, thanks to the platform’s mapping and transcoding features.

Pirelli Broadband Solutions boasts a wide repertoire of products that deliver services to the broadband connected homes and offices.
