Maverick Launches Multimedia Player

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Maverick Systems has reportedly launched a multimedia player that will give users a way to enjoy digital multimedia on their television. The device will play everything, from movies to music, photos or Internet radio, with style and ease.

The Maverick Multimedia Player features a powerful Broadcom (News - Alert) 7403 CPU and high-definition display. It comes in two optional hard drive sizes: 180 and 300 gigabytes. The multimedia player plays a plethora of codecs, namely H.264, MPEG, DivX, XviD, WMV, AAC, MP3, JPEG, and PNG.

In addition, the Maverick Multimedia Player supports USB devices like flash drives, external hard drives and digital cameras. It is also possible to network the Multimedia Player with a PC through Ethernet or optional wireless, enabling the enjoyment of Internet radio stations.

The device features a large LED screen and navigation keys that allow eight-way movement. It also features convenient file management which lets users copy, delete and move their collection. The software is intuitive with organized menus. In addition, the presence of multiple language options ensures that the user doesn’t require a translator to operate it. The sleek Maverick Multimedia Player comes in three distinct varieties, silver/black, black/black and black/red.

The company introduced the Maverick Multimedia Player at the IT Channel USA Conference 2009 held in Santa Clara, Calif. last week. The conference was organized by SYNET and sponsored by Korea IT Research Institute . The event featured digital electronics including an infrared multi-touch screen, 3D stereoscopic display, LED programmable display, interactive whiteboard with optical touch screen and a new concept of digital multimedia players.

Maverick Multimedia Player is distributed by SYNET, a New Jersey-based professional sales and marketing firm.

According to Harry Rhim, CEO of SYNET USA, the combination of versatility, user-friendliness and attractive design makes the Multimedia Player a winner. SYNET is focused on establishing and promoting strategic partnerships between the North American Market & prospective Korean IT companies. It also provides these companies with the fastest gateway to successfully penetrate the North American market.

Founded in 2002, Maverick provides a total solution for IPTV (News - Alert) service from head-end system to client's terminals.
