Motorola Personalizes IPTV Experience for Customers
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor
Motorola Home & Networks Mobility has announced operations support systems (OSS) and business support systems (BSS) integration solutions for IPTV (News - Alert) deployments with Microsoft Mediaroom.
According to a company press release, operators using Motorola’s (News - Alert) Communications Convergence Engine (CCE) are able to rapidly converge, design, package, deploy and manage a variety of compelling content and services. The integration of Motorola's CCE software and Mediaroom allows service providers to rapidly deploy a compelling, personalized IPTV experience in a more economical manner.
Motorola enables operators to minimize Mediaroom deployment risk and provides greater flexibility in integrating Microsoft (News - Alert) Mediaroom with new systems and applications.
Partnering with global IPTV solutions provider Motorola means faster time-to-revenue IPTV deployments. The company offers flexible service/content packages for consumers, new billing options, and end-user personalization. The company’s unique CCE software platform allows IPTV operators to manage and personalize content across multiple domains.
Because CCE can easily be integrated into the operator’s existing back-office systems, they can quickly and more effectively complete IPTV Mediaroom deployments. The CCE product suite can automate processes for IPTV service provisioning and activation, and thus IPTV service providers can customize their storefront packages to generate additional subscriber revenue using "on the go" technologies.
In the release, Dan McCrary, director of the global partner ecosystem for Microsoft Mediaroom, said that Motorola has demonstrated the maturity of its Mediaroom expertise and technology solutions. With this capacity, Motorola is well positioned to deliver back-office systems integration.
McCrary noted that IPTV services have grown to provide ever more features and capabilities, and Motorola has helped service providers accelerate subscriber growth of Mediaroom-based deployments.
"We are pleased to continue to work so closely with Microsoft to ensure the most successful Mediaroom IPTV deployments possible," said Alan Lefkof, corporate vice president and general manager, Motorola broadband home gateways and software. "Our IPTV software and services work is an important part of our industry-leading end-to-end IPTV solutions portfolio, from our IP set-tops to our headend solutions.”
