Mariner Monitors IPTV Services for GTA Teleguam

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Guam's full-service communications provider GTA Teleguam has announced it will deploy Mariner’s xVu service monitoring solution integrated within Cisco's Visual Quality of Experience or, “VQE” platform.

Mariner is a provider of innovative IP video solutions and applications and this deployment is the first joint customer launch of the integrated platform following thief partnership deal signed earlier this year.

Both Mariner and Cisco have delivered a cost effective IPTV service assurance system to GTA (News - Alert) Teleguam that will reduce costly truck rolls and customer churn in addition to delivering high quality of experience for users of their Guam Digital TV or “GUdTV” offering.

GTA Teleguam will also make use of the combined Cisco (News - Alert)/Mariner solution to provide their field technicians and senior management with end-to-end insight into its digital TV service.

"Mariner is pleased to be delivering top quality network service assurance on an integrated Cisco platform," said Curtis Howe, president and CEO of Mariner. "This complete solution effectively addresses two key challenges that service providers face in TV deployments today, gaining complete end-to-end service insight and reducing operational costs in the delivery and support of the TV service."

The xVu product provides visibility of customer's quality of experience right down to the set-top box level. This will be the first deployment of the xVu suite of network monitoring solutions in the Pacific Region.
