Latens Powers Emery Telcom IPTV Services in Utah

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Orangeville, Utah-based Emery Telcom has launched IPTV (News - Alert) services in Utah powered by Latens ECO middleware and pre-integrated conditional access system, or “CAS.”

The telecom provider has integrated and deployed Latens ECO with ADB set-top boxes and Avail TVN headend to deliver a truly state-of-the-art IPTV service.

Featuring pre-integrated conditional access software, Latens ECO is a popular middleware platform, which brings true multimedia networking to the home. The solution allows telcos to deliver dynamic video control features that ultimately increases subscribers and reduces churn.

“We have worked closely with Emery to help them launch their IPTV service customized to the ETV Interactive user experience and business needs, resulting in a truly industry leading IPTV service.” Phil Cardy, product marketing director, Latens, said. ”We are looking forward to working closely with Emery Telcom as they continue to roll out and evolve their IPTV offerings.”

Latens ECO also enables a truly interactive IPTV service that can support a variety of capabilities like DVR, Remote DVR and OTT TV.

Jared Anderson, chief business manager, Emery Telcom believes the deployment of their IPTV service will help them to offer their customers the most advanced services. Latens ECO provides them with a cost effective solution that has great flexibility in customization.

This solution meets their unique requirements for user experience, fits in with their business model and also reduces their OPEX (News - Alert) in relation to the other middleware systems Emery evaluated.

Anderson also appreciated Latens’ extensive knowledge of Pay TV services that helped them to successfully launch their IPTV service in a very difficult market.

Latens specializes in Pay TV software security and management systems. The company was in news yesterday for partnering with middleware applications developers to increase IPTV operator control and choice.
