Global Online Television Corp. Unveils GOTV IPTV Service

Global Online Television Corporation, a subsidiary of Atlantis Technology Group, announced launch of its GOTV IPTV service. The company plans to offer a live demonstration and a 30-day free trial for subscribers.
IPTV (News - Alert) is multi-channel, internet protocol television wherein the IPTV signal is transmitted via a broadband line instead of a signal being transmitted via satellite, cable or terrestrial routes.
According to Global Online Television Corp., its GOTV service offers IPTV service over any broadband internet connection, thereby enabling subscribers to utilize the company’s service even on existent DSL or cable modem. The video stream is delivered to subscribers’ home television by utilizing the IPTV and Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Media Player.
The GOTV Web site began accepting orders on Feb. 28 and the 30-day free trial runs through March 31. Under the terms of this promotion, each subscriber will have 30 days time duration days, after the activation of the service, to cancel their subscription.
As part of the service package, interested consumers can purchase GOTV Service W/ Amino set-top-box, which is a disruptive high definition MPEG-4 IPTV STB with IP-only in and HDMI-only out.
Subscribers can also opt for company’s GOTV Service W/ Amino, also a STB that offers HDMI and a compact AVC interface. This service provides subscribers with flexible options to cover a wide range of video and audio outputs together with an optical output for multichannel surround sound. In addition, a USB connector is provided for interfacing to a wide variety of devices.
The company is also offering GOTV Service W/ Amino HD PVR is an advanced interactive IPTV set-top box that supports advanced IPTV functionality such as PVR, pause-live-TV and pushed content models.
All the above services come with a remote, as well as a keyboard, officials said.
Furthermore, GOTV will be offering GO-V-Phone (News - Alert) service, which integrates VOIP with IPTV to provide video phone to subscriber’s home. With the help of this service, users will not only be able to make calls but can also see them live on the TV. The service is anticipated to be launched in Q2 2010. In addition, video chat functionality such as AIM, MSN, Yahoo, etc. will also be integrated into the service, GOTV said.
The company has also put-up the demo of GOTV IPTV service on the home page of the GOTV Web site.
