IPTV Provider GoTV Acquires HOMBRE Division, Extends Library of Content Providers

A Los Angeles Calif.-based provider of IPTV (News - Alert) solutions announced today, an acquisition to help extend their existing capabilities and further increase the quality of their library of content providers.
According to officials with GoTV Networks (News - Alert), the company has acquired the Hands-On Mobile Binary Runtime Environment or "HOMBRE" division of San Francisco, Calif.-based Hands-On Mobile Inc.
As per the agreement, GoTV will receive all applications, client and server technologies and patents included with HOMBRE, while Hands-On Mobile (News - Alert) will receive an equity stake in GoTV Networks.
The newly acquired library of products include top-tier brands and media partners like the Oprah Winfrey Network, Sprint (News - Alert), NASCAR, Veriz
on Wireless and the NFL.
"This acquisition extends our capabilities as we strive to set the standard for mobile content engagement and syndication," Thomas Ellsworth, CEO of GoTV said.
Addo Barrows, chief technology officer and interim CEO of Hands-On Mobile also said this latest move will help the company to focus on their core competencies in gaming as well as help to extend their key product lines into other areas.
Officials with GoTV Networks have announced Scott Scherer from the HOMBRE division will be appointed senior vice president of Product Development and Technology and will continue to manage the product management, engineering, user experience, and quality assurance teams. In addition, HOMBRE division employees will continue to be located in San Francisco and in a technology lab in San Diego.
