By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor
Lake Forest-CA (News - Alert)-based I.C.G. (Internet Connectivity Group), a provider of wireless solutions such as wireless digital signage to the enterprise marketplace, has announced the availability of its new ‘MobileMedia System’, a wireless digital signage solution.
In general, wireless digital signage is a form of out-of-home advertising in which content and messages are wirelessly captured with the help of a receiver and then displayed on an electronic screen. The global market for digital signage is projected to be approximately $14.6 billion by the end of 2011 – according to RocSearch.
A first of its kind in the industry, I.C.G. said that the new plug and play wireless digital signage system eliminates the need for two or more unique & disparate components as well as wiring - by integrating 3G/4G (broadband) wireless network module, a Wi-Fi router, an integrated media player and hard drive, all in one hard case. The wireless digital signage solution as well cuts costs.
Leveraging company’s patent-pending Proco Solution technology, the MobileMedia System has the capability to stream multimedia content wirelessly. The wireless system as well supports - all media; any available screen resolution; all file formats; and content management software of user’s choice.
I.C.G. said that the user will have to first connect their flat panel screen to the company’s ViFi Adapter, a wireless receiver for receiving audio and video content over WiFi (News - Alert) from the MobileMedia System. Then, the user can mount the screen wherever he wants, provide power and digital signage is up and running. The MobileMedia System allows cached content to be streamed directly to the company’s ViFi Adapter - for output to virtually any type of display screen.
This ViFi Adapter wireless receiver supports all media and content formats as well as any Windows or Linux-based content management software, thereby enabling the digital information to be multicast to numerous displays.
I.C.G. officials said the MobileMedia System is now ready to ship. Due to high demand and limited quantities remaining, the product is available for NFR and commercial deployments only.
